Therapy for Immigrants in Ontario
Support for the
Journey Between Worlds
Immigrating to a new country can be one of the most challenging and transformative experiences of a lifetime. Whether you’re navigating uncertainty, displacement, family separation, cultural transitions, or the long wait of immigration processes, your story matters — and you don’t have to carry it alone.
At Afterglow Therapy, we offer a compassionate, grounded space for individuals and families experiencing the emotional, psychological, and somatic impacts of immigration. Whatever your struggles, our therapists are here for your experience, honour your resilience, and gently support your nervous system through it all.
We offer virtual therapy for immigrants and children of immigrants in Ontario and Canada.
You deserve care. You deserve to be seen. You deserve to be supported.

Grief and Trauma
Seeking help is a sign of strength! Our approach is tailored to the unique needs of immigrants, with evidence-based therapies, stress management techniques, and a compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere for process.
Immigration-related stress doesn’t just live in the mind — it lives in the body. We work somatically to support the nervous system, helping to restore a sense of grounding, safety, and agency in unfamiliar terrain.
Leaving behind what is familiar often brings waves of grief, confusion, and questions around identity. We hold space for the emotional complexity of migration — including intergenerational trauma, feelings of not belonging, and the strength it takes to build life in a new place.

Korrenne Jensen, Maryam Mohamed, and the Afterglow team are experienced in providing psychotherapy for immigrants and children of immigrants. Our caring and open approach to therapy gives people with complex trauma a warm place to safety connect and restore.
We use evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a client-centered approach to create a customized healing experience for each individual. We offer virtual therapy sessions for immigrants in Ontario and Canada.
