The ideal candidate is someone with a foundational understanding of trauma, neurodiversity and grief. If you do not already have these skills, please have a willingness to grow in these areas!
I welcome students who are curious, compassionate, and committed to practicing in a way that is relational, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed. Your practicum placement is a chance to work with real clients in a supported environment while being mentored by an experienced, CRPO-registered therapists.

Opportunities for co-regulation and case consultation with our team

Support in navigating the realities of beginning client work

Exposure to somatic, neurodivergent-affirming, and grief-informed approaches

Focused support on documentation, ethics, and therapeutic presence

Virtual therapy opportunities (Ontario-based clients)
Student Requirements:
-
Completion of Bachelor of arts or science in a related psychology field
-
Completion of pre-practicum course work of a Masters of Counselling or similar field
-
Vulnerable Sectors Background Check

Ability to work in person in Brantford or completely virtual practicum base program

Experience related to counselling in other capacities is a bonus - mentoring, peer counselling, volunteer experience

Korrenne Jensen is a Registered Psychotherapist through the CRPO within Ontario with a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Having also earned her Honors in Bachelor of Arts, Korrenne is well educated in psychology, social work and sociology.
Being additionally trained in EMDR level 1 and 2, IFS, Indigenous Mental Health, Gottman Level 1 and play therapy techniques, Korrenne's skill set is broad and suitable to a variety of therapy needs.
Korrenne's life experiences have taken her around the world, giving her opportunities to work with individuals from many different cultures, orientations and demographics. Korrenne has a passion for life transitions and holding space for grief, assisting with ADHD coping, and helping individuals to reprocess a variety of traumatic wounds including physical, sexual, relational, and religious challenges.
